Happy Super Bowl Eve Eve. May your TVs be merry and bright, and may all your briskets be just right.

JJ wisely has the Patriots and No. 12; TA has the Rams and 2.5 points. I’ve always been a dreamer.

But other stuff is on-going, like the war that broke out today in Natchitoches. Thought I’d better report in!

Tonight at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum on Front Street, the Louisiana State Museum folk are unveiling a new special exhibition called The Pelican State Goes to War: Louisiana in World War II.

“Produced by The National WWII Museum, the exhibition will feature artifacts, photographs and oral histories highlighting Louisiana’s extraordinary contributions toward America achieving victory in World War II,” the press release reads.

The exhibition opens with a reception from 5-8 p.m. today (Friday, February 1) with drinks, appetizers, and a special performance by the Victory Belles. Opening night is free! And if you’ve never experienced the Victory Belles, a singing trio, they are talented and frisky. We love the Victory Belles, a talented and wholesome bunch for sure.

The exhibition will be at the museum through March 15.

While you are there, check out the Sports Hall of Fame wing. Things are about to be added during the spring to welcome the most recent class of inductees, which includes Peyton Manning, Les Miles, and CFL Hall of Famer and LA Tech All-America QB Matt Dunigan. Induction weekend is June 6-8.

The Dave Dixon and Distinguished Service Award recipients will be announced Monday, post-Super Bowl.

The Induction Ceremony (on Saturday June 8 this year) always sells out but this year will sell out quicker than normal, so check out tickets and events at LaSportsHall.com. Would love to see you there.
