DW has made no secret of its love for college football’s Bowl Season. We will watch a Potato Bowl with almost the same zeal as the National Championship.
There’s just something about the smell of a Cheez-It Bowl on a Wednesday morning in late December…
LSU’s game with undefeated Central Florida comes at a great time of day. Kickoff for the Fiesta Bowl is noon, which means you can eat while watching the game. OR, you can set the DVR, eat with the family if you have such plans on New Year’s Day, THEN watch the game and fast-forward (or slow-forward, if you prefer) through the commercials.
Glory!
Then after the game you can have your own Siesta Bowl, and get ready for the nighttime football scraps.
The No. 8 UCF (12-0) vs. No. 11 LSU (9-3) game will be fun because it’s power – the UCF offense, averaging 44 points a game – vs. power – the LSU defense, led by Springhill’s Devin White.
The Tigers might have the same problem as the Aubrins did last year, getting “up” to play the best of the Group of Five teams; the Golden Knights haven’t lost in their last 25 games. That and UCF’s win over the Aubrins last year in BowlFest 2017 should get LSU’s attention in this Battle of the Acronyms.
(Here’s something you might not know, since LSU and the rest of the SEC is regularly overlooked because of Alabama. The Tigers have won at least eight games for 19 consecutive years, which ties LSU with Oklahoma for the longest current streak among Power 5 schools. And, LSU has reached a bowl game every year since 2000; since then, LSU has claimed two national championships and won four Southeastern Conference titles.)
